Summer Sermon Series -- Ten Words



And [the LORD] he wrote on the tablets, in the same writing as before, the Ten Commandments that the LORD had spoken to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly.  And the LORD gave them to me. (Deuteronomy 10:4)

June 21     The Preface   (Exodus 20:1-2)
         I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, 
                        out of the house of slavery. 

July 5 The 1st Commandment   (Exodus 20:3-6)
         You shall have no other gods. 

July 12 The 2nd Commandment   (Exodus 20:7)
         You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God. 

July 19 The 3rd Commandment   (Exodus 20:8-11)
         Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 

July 26     The 4th Commandment   (Exodus 20:12)
         Honor your father and your mother.

Aug. 2 The 5th Commandment   (Exodus 20:13)
         You shall not murder. 

Aug. 9 The 6th Commandment   (Exodus 20:14)
         You shall not commit adultery. 

Aug. 23         The 7th Commandment   (Exodus 20:15)
         You shall not steal. 

Aug. 30     The 8th Commandment   (Exodus 20:16)
         You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 

Sept. 6 The 9th & 10th Commandments   (Exodus 20:17)
         You shall not covet.
