DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS THIS WEEKEND!
At some point in the darkness of early Sunday morning, March 12, at like 2:00 AM, clocks get moved forward one hour.  In short, we lose an hour of sleep.
Here is a helpful suggestion to make the transition a little bit easier.  Move your clocks ahead one hour at about 2:00 PM on Saturday.  (I know, there's not much you can do with your cell phone.)  Make the mental adjustment earlier on Saturday.  Then go to bed at your usual time and you will get the same rest you normally get so that you can come to Bible Class (9:00 AM) and the service (10:00 AM) on Sunday.  And if it helps, we will have coffee ready.

BAD WEATHER POLICY FOR GOOD SHEPHERD
We will always have services as scheduled at Good Shepherd. Since I live across the parking lot, I can get to the church no matter how bad the weather gets. Even if the service is just me and my family, we will be here. For everyone else, please use your God-given common sense to determine whether or not you will get on the road to attend any service when the weather is bad. We don't want anyone to risk his or her life to be here. But if you do venture out, the scheduled service will take place. It may be only a handful with a cappella singing and/or spoken liturgy, but we will be here.
Bible Classes and meetings may be canceled due to weather. Check your email regarding announcements to see if any of those scheduled events is canceled. If there is no email about it, it is not canceled. But again, use common sense to determine if you can make it, and call the pastor to let him know if you will not be coming.

ADULT BIBLE CLASS: HE WENT THROUGHOUT THEIR TOWNS AND VILLAGES
Throughout his ministry, Jesus never traveled more than 100 miles from his hometown of Nazareth, yet he covered a lot of ground. We will consider the various places and events which marked Jesus’ life and ministry.  Travel along with Jesus throughout Judea and Jerusalem, Samaria, the villages of Galilee, and a few areas beyond Palestine.
The schedule for this class can be found here.  Classes are on Sundays at 9:00 AM.

LENTEN VESPERS
Lenten Vespers (an evening prayer service) will be conducted on Wednesdays throughout March at 7:00 PM.  These Wednesday evening services focus on the sufferings and death of Jesus.  The Passion readings will feature the Gospel according to St. Matthew.  The sermon theme for each week is listed here.
A supper will be served each Wednesday at 6:00 PM.  If you would like to contribute to the Lenten dinners, a Sign Up Genius link will be provided soon.  It will be updated as we approach each Wednesday meal.

CHURCH COUNCIL / OPEN FORUM HIGHLIGHTS

>  Easter for Kids is an outreach event which we will host on Saturday, April 1 (9:00-11:00 AM).  We will have our guests go through various stations which will relate the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection, as well as engage children in various activities.  We will need people to help us prepare for this event, and we will need volunteers to facilitate each station.  In order for this to be a worthwhile event, we need to have our own members engaged in it.  To find out how you can be involved, speak with Pastor Schroeder.  A planning meeting will take place on Sunday, March 12 after church.

>  We have considered the idea of getting an LED sign to replace our church sign for a long time.  Rather than continue to consider it, we want to proceed.  Signs come in many shapes, which also means many different prices.  In order to determine our options, we need a few people to do some research on the LED sign options.  Once we determine what we want and how much it will cost, we can either get the new sign or lay the plan to rest.  If you are willing to do some research, speak with Dan Rauchholz.

>  If you have friends who are not attending a church or with whom you have had conversations about spiritual matters, ask them if they would like to meet your pastor.  Meetings can take place at your home, at church, at a coffee shop, or other venues.

LADIES OF GOOD SHEPHERD MEETING
The Ladies of Good Shepherd will be meeting after service on March 12. All ladies are welcome to attend!
