On Friday, December 19, the Local Tourist and his lovely Mrs. took a tour of Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester, Michigan. Click on the link for details about this amazing home. We toured it as it was all decked out for Christmas. It was fantastic.
According to something I stumbled across, this Christmas light display was inspired by a neighborhood spat. Apparently, the neighbors had complained that this family's rooster was crowing too early in the morning. I don't know how persistent or nasty the complaints were, but the family responded with this Christmas light display.
It is hilarious watching it a few times, but I can't imagine having to live with it--either as the neighbor or the family who had it installed. In any case, you can watch it as often as you like.
Our members were busy today. Following Bible Class and the Divine Service, we had people stuffing stockings for veterans. Others were busy putting lights and ornaments on the tree. It was rainy, so we chose to delay standing out in the elements to put up our outdoor Nativity scene. We also enjoyed a pot luck meal with each other.
Today, our Local Tourist visits the town square in Plymouth, MI. It has been lit up with trees throughout the town square. While pretty, they are all done in memory of someone who has died.
