Local Tourist: Matthaei Botanical Gardens, Ann Arbor

On a cool, grey Saturday, March 9, we drove to Ann Arbor to walk through the Matthaei Botanical Gardens.  More than just something to do, it was also nice mental therapy walking around in tropical temperatures for a while, looking at various palm trees and other trees and bushes.

There are a lot of plants, shrubs, and trees closely packed together, and they are labeled so that you can have some idea about each plant.  There are a few plants which you can relate to the Bible (e. g., olive trees and a frankincense bush).  There weren't too many flowers in bloom, but we did enjoy seeing so much lush green.  The cost for parking maxes out at $5.  Donations are accepted in the botanical garden.

Philip told us that if he ever gets to a tropical paradise, it will be all about the plants.
I think he was kidding.
